ARRIVAL LOG - First Wave
![]() |
| Who; EVERYONE! What; The new residents of HQ make their arrival! Where; All unrestricted areas of HQ (and maybe some restricted areas, you naughty people) When; July 24th, Mid-morning on Warnings; None as of yet, can be changed if content changes Maybe you were showering, or sleeping, having breakfast. You might have been participating in your morning commute or fighting off a horde of zombies. Whatever you were in the middle of, a strange sensation of disconnection comes over you, as though you're watching your life on screen, a passive audience to the proceedings. It's almost like, well, being sucked down the drain like every adolescent nightmare, the feeling of disconnection replaced quickly with a pain so deep, it's as though every atom of your being is pressed too closely together, and your vision goes dark. Then, just as quickly as the pain came over it, it's gone, reality snapping back into place like a stretched rubber band. When your eyes adjust, you find yourself in a slightly spartan room, standing on a platform that seems to be made of glass or some sort of crystal. Energy currents in blues and greens swirl within it, dizzying and hypnotizing if stared at for too long. You're shocked from the vision by a cheery, bubbly voice that belongs to a petite brunette grinning at you from the base of the steps that lead down from the platform. She apologizes for any inconvenience you may have been caused, and hands you a small package, explaining that inside you'll find a phone, a directory of locations within the complex you've arrived in, a charge card with a balance of $500, and a key to a room in the dormitories which can be reached by following the green line on your directory. She apologizes again for how confusing this must all be, but assures you that everything will make sense soon! OOC NOTES: Feel free to hit up any of the NPC starters, start your own threads under any of the locations provided, or start your own threads independent of the starters! Prose or brackets are welcomed! Once characters leave the Receiving Room, they will have full access to the Network, and you're free to post there as well! |

RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
At the end of the steps is a petite girl with chestnut brown hair and bright emerald eyes. She's wearing a warm smile as she greets you.
"Hi! I'm Airy. Welcome to HQ. Sorry about all this but if you have any questions let me know."
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
“This is not the Lab”
Having been on his way back to the lab from a crime scene, Zack was in a dark blue jump suit covered in dirt and other undetermined material.
Without breaking concentration. “I need to get back to my lab at the Jeffersonian Institute in Washington DC. Is there any way of using this equipment to return me to where I was?”
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
"Oh, no. This is HQ." She frowned. "I'm sorry. You can't. You're not in your... wait Washington DC? That's in Maryland right?"
Airy shook her head. "There isn't a way to use this to return you." They don't know all the details of what'd happened yet. Airy flashed him a warm grin. "Hopefully it's just for a little while but we want to make you comfortable while you are here."
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
Zack then looked in to the package and pulled out the key and the map.
Looking back at Airy. “Can I assume that there are bating facilities attached to the dormitories? Also since it is apparent that I will be unable to leave this facility in the foreseeable future, would it be possible to get a fresh change of clothes?”
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
“Yes, your rooms will have showers and bathrooms attached. They’re sort of like dorm rooms.” Not that Airy went to college.
Her eyes glanced down Zack’s jump suit, noting the dirt. Her lips formed a slight frown. There were a lot of people here with sensitive noses. She turned and waved at Zack to follow her. “I’ll find you something.” It might end up being something of Nathan’s but it’ll last him. “Then we can ask for a few changes of clothes. What do you like to wear?” At least so she has an idea.
Re: RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
“Thank you.”
He then began to follow Airy.
“I’m not very particular about what I wear as long as it is practical and not too flashy.”
He started to wonder if she would be able to provide him any information about this facility of direct him to someone who could.
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
"You aren't suppose to be back here so this is our secret okay? And don't come back here without me." She looked nervous but she slipped inside the room before Zack would have a chance to reply. She took exactly five minutes and thirty two seconds before returning with a pair of jeans and a white T-shirt.
"Here. Let's head back and I'll show you where the bathrooms are." It was a better place to change than a restricted hall way. She just hoped that Zack didn't tell Luther or Nathan before she had a chance too.

She did realize that people were just displaced from their homes and she didn't want to be insensitive.
"We'll have more information on that soon. We're..." She paused trying to think of a way to say it. "Your arrival was unexpected. I was able to bring you here but we're still getting ready. There should be more information about things after people get settled." Airy had suggested putting a bulletin board in the Rec Room though that hasn't been done yet.
"What sort of job are you looking for?" She might as well ask now.

It didn't feel nice to come right out and say that those arriving aren't trusted. "The offices are off limits right now." She hoped that Kristen wasn't mad.

It sounded like a strange question but Airy was being completely serious. If she was going to work in the city then she'll need to write one up and get permission to leave. Airy really wasn't sure the details or how that was going to work but she definately remembers someone saying that the had it covered.

"Is there-" She paused for a moment, swallowing thickly, before looking at Airy with wide, somewhat frightened eyes and asking in her smooth southern drawl, "Is there any chance I could find a pair of gloves somewhere?" The very last thing she wanted to do was accidentally hurt someone. She'd done too much damage already.
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
"Yeah." Her head tilted and bright emerald eyes studied Rogue's hand. "Your hands are a little bigger than mind." Airy had tiny hands. "But I think I have those cotton stretchy ones."
She looked back up at Rogue, her expression earnest and friendly. "Will that be okay?"
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
"That would be just fine, thank you so much," she answered with an expression of genuine gratitude. "Really, you've no idea how much I appreciate it."
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
The short brunette leads Rogue from the receiving bay and then turned right. After a few steps she looked up at Rogue with a single digit pressed over her lips. "Oh, um... don't tell anyone I'm bringing you back here okay?" Luther would kill her if he learned that she'd broken the rules. "I mean I'm sure it's fine if you're with me..."
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
"I won't tell anyone," she assured Airy, trying for a small smile and just barely managing a ghost of one. It had been too long since she'd last smiled. Taking a deep breath, she decided to ask the question that had been bothering her since she'd suddenly been here with her memories intact instead of back at the mansion living a normal, happy life. "Why am I here?"
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
She turned a corner looking up at Rogue. "I am sorry. I want to give you more than that. We'll have more soon." She paused in front of a door and held up her hand.
"I'll be right back." She slipped into her room and came out a few minutes later with a pair of gloves and a smile. "HA! I found them right where I left them. Let's head back." Before Luther caught them.

"Yeah, ah, what else can you tell me? I don't like suddenly being out of sorts." Which was a lie, really. He was used to being without information. That was kind of his life. Still, and all, he wanted answers if he could get them.
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
"Well, right now we don't know how you got here. There are a few of you." She had been counting but she wrote it down so she hadn't had to remember it. "I was able to create this to bring you here so you're safe but we're still figuring it out."
The truth sucked but Airy always thought it was best.
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
"Wait... you created this? Created what?" He looked around, then back at her again. "This ...complex?"
he was a little confused, still, about where they were.
"Is there a fireplace around here anywhere by chance, and would you happen to have flue powder?"
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
She pointed at the platform that Harry had walked from. "You would have appeared in the middle of nowhere otherwise. We don't know who else is going to show up here but we didn't want anyone to get hurt."
There were dangerous things out there. "Um..." Asking about a fireplace was new. "No, there aren't any fire places here... We're underground. I don't think there would be a place for the smoke to go."
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
"Is it magic?" He paused, then nodded. "Can I help you?" He rubbed his face and sighed at the no fireplace thing.
"Oh. How far underground?"
RECEIVING BAY | NPC: Airy
"I don't actually know how far underground. I tried to ask once and never got a clear answer. I don't think anyone knows. This place was here before we set up here." Harry will find that Airy has a lot of half answers though she was answering to the best of her ability.
"What kind of magic do you do?"
