ARRIVAL LOG - First Wave
![]() |
| Who; EVERYONE! What; The new residents of HQ make their arrival! Where; All unrestricted areas of HQ (and maybe some restricted areas, you naughty people) When; July 24th, Mid-morning on Warnings; None as of yet, can be changed if content changes Maybe you were showering, or sleeping, having breakfast. You might have been participating in your morning commute or fighting off a horde of zombies. Whatever you were in the middle of, a strange sensation of disconnection comes over you, as though you're watching your life on screen, a passive audience to the proceedings. It's almost like, well, being sucked down the drain like every adolescent nightmare, the feeling of disconnection replaced quickly with a pain so deep, it's as though every atom of your being is pressed too closely together, and your vision goes dark. Then, just as quickly as the pain came over it, it's gone, reality snapping back into place like a stretched rubber band. When your eyes adjust, you find yourself in a slightly spartan room, standing on a platform that seems to be made of glass or some sort of crystal. Energy currents in blues and greens swirl within it, dizzying and hypnotizing if stared at for too long. You're shocked from the vision by a cheery, bubbly voice that belongs to a petite brunette grinning at you from the base of the steps that lead down from the platform. She apologizes for any inconvenience you may have been caused, and hands you a small package, explaining that inside you'll find a phone, a directory of locations within the complex you've arrived in, a charge card with a balance of $500, and a key to a room in the dormitories which can be reached by following the green line on your directory. She apologizes again for how confusing this must all be, but assures you that everything will make sense soon! OOC NOTES: Feel free to hit up any of the NPC starters, start your own threads under any of the locations provided, or start your own threads independent of the starters! Prose or brackets are welcomed! Once characters leave the Receiving Room, they will have full access to the Network, and you're free to post there as well! |

FOREST | NPC: Nathan
The young man can be found reclining against a rock outcropping alongside the stream throughout the day, taking a reprieve from the new arrivals and communing with a very real forest he helped create. He may also be protecting it from any of the new people who might seek to do it harm. He'll smile in a friendly way if anyone comes close and incline his head in greeting.
"Have a seat. It's not as weird as it seems, I promise."
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
She wasn't sure.
She paused when she saw the guy on the rock. He was pretty cute and cute a fairly interesting picture leaning against the rock like that. She approached with a slight frown, her eyebrow raised.
"It's pretty weird. Is there a breeze in here? Does it go outside? How did you guys get all of this, down here." She waved a hand when she said 'all of this' as if it wasn't obvious.
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"That's not exactly easy to answer. No, it doesn't go outside. It's all self-contained. We, uh, made it?"
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
Hanna stepped closer thought she paused just short of the lounging stranger. She didn't trust him, she didn't trust most of the things in this place though he wasn't giving her a bad vibe or anything.
"How did you get all this stuff down here? We are underground right?" She didn't know how far underground but she was trying not to think about it.
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"It's hard to explain. Airy, my girlfriend...she...creates things. With her imagination. I can...make them real. She...thought the place up, and here it is."
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"Just created this." Did it sound like she didn't believe you because this was really hard for her to believe.
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"That is pretty much exactly what I said, yeah."
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
It was very hard to believe but Hanna took a second look around.
"Okay, how?" She didn't mean for her tone to be tense but this was all getting really weird.
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"How do you breath? It's just...something she does. It's part of her."
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
Hanna exhaled a slow breath to keep her temper from flaring. This guy really wasn't any help and it was clear that he didn't really care to have people around, despite what he said. She didn't know the reason why that was and she had a feeling that he'd tell her to get lost if she asked but she's asking anyway.
"Do you want me to go?"
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"No, it's fine. I know it doesn't make any sense, but I meant it. Airy makes things with her mind. Whatever she imagines, she can real."
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"Then why doesn't she just create a way for us to get home?" She didn't mean for her words to sound so sharp but she was frustrated, alone and didn't know what else to do. Then she came to find that this girl can create anything but they're still stuck here.
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"Because in order for her to create anything that works, she has to know how it works. we don't know where all of you came from, where those places are in the huge scheme of things, or any idea how to send you back."
He looks to her pointedly. "Or, trust me, we would."
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
Hanna simply lacked no tact and that wasn't likely to chance.
"You don't want us here and we don't want to be here. I think I got the situation now."
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"Look. It's just that...you're sort of like refugees that just showed up on our doorstep. We couldn't just throw you out, but until you started happening, we had a really organized way of handling the people who already live here. There wasn't any way to plan for it, so we're all adjusting."
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"Not the strangest thing I've seen, hon. You look a little on the weary side, been a long day?"
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"We'll be ready for whatever comes our way." She might be a little bit cocky about that.
"Though I sure want to get home too. I doubt we'd be stayin' so long if you knew of a way."
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"We will be, you're right about that, and we need to figure out exactly how you got here before we can think about getting you home." He moved to face her more directly. "I'm Nathan."
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
At least as she's found, being confident was the best way to get anything done. She'd watch Gambit be downright cocky in most situations and you know what they say, 'you are like your company'.
"You can call me Rogue." She didn't know there was another one yet.
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"Rogue, huh? It's an interesting name."
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
Rogue eyed him curiously, her thoughts quickly forming incorrect conclusions in her head. She needed more information.
"I come by it naturally. It's my name with the X-Men."
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"A lot's happened recently." As if that weren't obvious.
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
Rogue turned away and waved a hand in the air. "I'll give you some peace now. We all need it." She would check out her room since it'll most likely be the only time she gets to herself.
FOREST | NPC: Nathan
"Hey. Just so you know, I don't blame you guys."
