EVENT 1 - A VERY IMPORTANT MEETING

Who; EVERYONE! What; The fearless leader of HQ has some information for a waiting crowd Where; Cafeteria When; August 2nd, 8:30pm - ?? Warnings; None as of yet, can be changed if content changes A text message will be sent to the phones of all new arrivals in HQ at 2am on the 2nd. The text message contains the following: "Greetings new arrivals! I'm certain all of you have dozens of questions and I'd very much like to answer them. If you would humor me, please meet me tomorrow evening at 9pm in the Cafeteria. It isn't the best location for a disclosure meeting, but I believe we all may fit. Until then, have a good evening." When everyone arrives to the cafeteria that night, they will find people who may or may not be familiar seated a table along the far wall near the bar. Luther, Nathan, Gus, and Airy are all present, as well as three faces they have yet to see. At the head of the table, an older man with a noble bearing and friendly smile watches as the new arrivals shuffle in. To his right is a striking woman who seems to be watching people arrive with an air of annoyance, and a younger man to his left who rarely looks up from the sketchbook in front of him.

[Gambit smiles at her question, gently shaking his head.]

Non, petite. I can always get more. Dis one is yours, now. So, what's yo' name, huh? I'm Remy.

[Grace smiles brightly at Remy.]

[She looks over at his game and begins to mimic the set up and placement of the cards. After a few seconds she understands the point of the game.]

We're trying to collect the suits?

[He nods, waving a hand at the spread.]

Bit mo' complicated dan dat, mon petite. We put each suit in order, alternatin', red an' black, in reverse order. [He motions to a stack.] Dis be de 7 'a clubs, non? Black suit. An' over here, we got de 6 'a diamonds, red suit. 6 be de number just before 7, non? An' de suit is red, so, we can move dis 6 on ta dis 7. Followin'?

[Grace watches as he points to the numbers and nods her head entusastically.]

So it'll be king, queen, jack... [She pauses trying to remember the order of the cards.] ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. [She fowns when she finds the joker in her deck.]

What's the jester for?

[He smirks.] Him? He's de Joker. Ain' nobody knows his real name, non? So he can play any role. Makes a good stand-in when yo' down an' ya need a hand up, no matter what yo' needin'. He ain' got no place in Solitaire, though. That's cheatin'. Maybe later, I teach you a game where we put him back in de deck, eh?

[Grace nods and carefully places the Jokers to the side.]

Okay. So I play like this?

[She begins again, setting up the cards and then listing the cards numerically alternating between black and red. After a few quick turns she pauses and frowns.]

This is harder than I thought.

[Grace gathers the cards, using the surface of the table to shuffle and then start again.]

[He nods.]

Oui, dat's true, an' what's more, if you lose, you only defeated yo'self. Can't even blame nobody else.

[Grace frowns.]

Then I'll try harder.

[He doesn't want to give up.]

[He smiles.]

Dat's de idea, mon petite. You jus' keep tryin', non?

[Grace gives Remy an enthusiastic nod before beginning the game again.]

I will.

[Her smile widens.]

[When the meeting starts she'll slip the cards away and into the pocket on her cloak.]
