EVENT 1 - A VERY IMPORTANT MEETING
![]() |
Who; EVERYONE! What; The fearless leader of HQ has some information for a waiting crowd Where; Cafeteria When; August 2nd, 8:30pm - ?? Warnings; None as of yet, can be changed if content changes A text message will be sent to the phones of all new arrivals in HQ at 2am on the 2nd. The text message contains the following: "Greetings new arrivals! I'm certain all of you have dozens of questions and I'd very much like to answer them. If you would humor me, please meet me tomorrow evening at 9pm in the Cafeteria. It isn't the best location for a disclosure meeting, but I believe we all may fit. Until then, have a good evening." When everyone arrives to the cafeteria that night, they will find people who may or may not be familiar seated a table along the far wall near the bar. Luther, Nathan, Gus, and Airy are all present, as well as three faces they have yet to see. At the head of the table, an older man with a noble bearing and friendly smile watches as the new arrivals shuffle in. To his right is a striking woman who seems to be watching people arrive with an air of annoyance, and a younger man to his left who rarely looks up from the sketchbook in front of him. |
AFTER THE MEETING
Wow, that was a lot of information he just dumped. Feel free to use this thread to discuss all the implications and have your characters react and interact with all the new info! You have about two hours before Gus shows up to kick you all out so he can get the Cafeteria ready for the breakfast crowd XD)

[Hanna is excited about the idea of shopping though one fact gives her pause.]
What does he mean by 'go to the hospital first' though? [She is not okay with getting poked with needles.]

Hanna flashed the woman a grin. "Well, I plan to bring an extra set of hands to help carry mine."
Sorry Celab, you've been volunteered.

It's worth a shot though she's pretty bad at snooping.

Grace | Open (It's too late for a kid)
The twelve year old doesn't seem particularly concerned with the fact that she's sleeping on the table. She'd originally lied down to rest her eyes, wanting to wait for the meeting to end to excuse herself but her small body fades quickly leaving the girl curled in a sleepy ball of limbs.
Hopefully no one forgets that she's there...]

When she'd gone to "rest her eyes" he'd had a feeling she wouldn't stay awake for long, and the way her breathing adjusted to that of someone in slumber proved that. He politely excused himself from whomever he'd been speaking with and made his way over to her with a gentle smile on his face. He hated to wake her, but a table was hardly a suitable place to sleep. He carefully lifted part of her hood, assuming its absence would rouse her awake. ]
I think it may be time for a certain sleeping beauty to reunite with her bedchamber.

I’m okay papa. I want to wait for you.
[She doesn’t want to travel that far from her father. She’d rather stay in the same room as him at all times and while she’s been given a room and a bed she’d still much rather stay with her father.
A small part of her is scared that he’ll disappear while she’s sleeping or if she looks away for too long. Grace has to silently remind herself to be strong.]

No waiting necessary, my little princess. We can go together whenever you're ready.
[ He felt like it was important to emphasize the together part. ]
We can discuss about what we learned here first if you'd like to, but that can be delayed until tomorrow if you're too tired.
[ He said the last part in an almost challenging way, evidently teasing her though he knew it very may well get her talking. Which would win: curiosity or sleepiness? One could never be sure. ]
no subject
I'm ready and we can talk on the way.
[It's not a long walk but they can still talk.]
Charles said that I could work in the day care and help take care of the younger kids.
no subject
Did he? [ Jefferson had reservations about the man, but he had also overheard the way he spoke with Grace. There was no denying that the professor had fatherly instinct in him. ] Is that what you'd like to do then? I've no doubt you'd be perfect for the job.
no subject
I think I can help there. What will you do papa?
[They can't very well sniff out mushrooms here...]
Papa! I forgot! I found mushrooms this morning.
[She's going to gloss over the crying part.]
no subject
You'll do great. [ He gave her hand a small squeeze. He was proud that Grace was so enthusiastic about helping people. ] I'm not sure about me yet. What do you think I should try? I thought about the library since that's a good place to figure things out but I'm not sure it would suit me.
[ Jefferson's eyebrows raised in surprise for just a moment what she told him. Quickly after he grinned with an enthusiasm he saved only for her, pulling her over in a brief side hug before letting her go again. ]
I would have expected no less with that nose you have. What sort did you find?
[ He knew it was probably a hard thing for her, but if she didn't want to delve into it he wouldn't make her. Honestly, Jefferson had spent many lonely days of his own thinking about hunting mushrooms near the woods near their home. It had been a difficult way of life but she'd always found new ways to make the task fun. Some of the best memories he had involved playing with her in that forest. ]

Rogue (Animated)
Rogue isn’t displeased with the information provided. She spent more time listening than she had planned. She can’t shake the feeling that this is all very familiar. A leader named Charles who is trying to help in his own grand way. ‘Fearless leader’ seems like an apt title. A smirk tugs at her lips as she imagines the handsome man in front of her with a bald head.
She wishes Beast were here. He’d be able to find out more and maybe even build them a way home. If that platform brought them here then he’d be the one to reverse it. She exhales a slow breath turning to those around her.]
This is just going to lead us into a heap of trouble. [Southern tones touch her voice as she continues.] I nearabout thought we might learn more at this meeting. What do you think Sugar?
Rogue (Animated)-Pulse
We haven't met yet, I don't think. Pulse, at your pleasure.[ And he winked. ]
Rogue (Animated)-Pulse
Ain't very different. [She eyes him curiously before adding her own introduction.]
My pleasure? Aren't you charming. You can call me Rogue.
Rogue (Animated)-Pulse
A pleasure to meet you, Rogue. [he hesitated, then spoke quietly.] In the interests of honesty, I should tell you I have met an alternate universe version of you, before this place. It has nothing to do with us, per se, but it is also true.
[Pulse nodded to her, eyes steady on hers.]
Rogue (Animated)-Pulse
[Rogue's met the alternate version of Gambit here and while it's odd it isn't the strangest things she's encountered. She's happy for his honesty and she hadn't expected that, let alone an explanation.]
As long as you don't expect me to remember anything, hon.
Rogue (Animated)-Pulse
[ He offered her his hand, eyes starting to almost glow. ]
Rogue (Animated)-Pulse
Do you want to go into a coma? [She can't control it and she takes great care not to touch anyone and yet he knew her and just offers? Rogue can't understand that and she doesn't want to hurt people like that.]
Re: Rogue (Animated)-Pulse
In addition, I've been trained in how to make the thoughts and memories front and center in my mind, so that if you touched me, all you would get was those exact memories, and nothing else. And I would stop your power before it got anything else, even a drop of life force.
