A text message will be sent to the phones of all new arrivals in HQ at 2am on the 2nd. The text message contains the following:

"Greetings new arrivals! I'm certain all of you have dozens of questions and I'd very much like to answer them. If you would humor me, please meet me tomorrow evening at 9pm in the Cafeteria. It isn't the best location for a disclosure meeting, but I believe we all may fit. Until then, have a good evening."

When everyone arrives to the cafeteria that night, they will find people who may or may not be familiar seated a table along the far wall near the bar. Luther, Nathan, Gus, and Airy are all present, as well as three faces they have yet to see. At the head of the table, an older man with a noble bearing and friendly smile watches as the new arrivals shuffle in. To his right is a striking woman who seems to be watching people arrive with an air of annoyance, and a younger man to his left who rarely looks up from the sketchbook in front of him.

[Elena approaches Charles with a serious but calm expression. She's guarded though she doubts that her nature has remained a secret among those who sat at the table earlier that night. If she'd been in Gus's position she would have told her pack as well and seeing him there made it clear that this is his pack.

She holds out her hand to the professor hoping that he'd be willing to shake it.]

I'm Elena Micheals, it's nice to meet you. I had the pleasure of meeting your son earlier. I'm afraid it was an accident but he had helped me find my way so please thank him for me when you see him next. I have a few questions though they are particular. [She listens to the conversations around them, confirming that no one is listening to her before returning her focus to Charles.] Is central park a good place to run? I'm used to the beaches near Toronto.

[He reaches out, taking her hand giving her a warm shake, but he doesn't hold her hand overly long.]

I'm certain he will appreciate it. [Luther's had a hard time of it recently, but she doesn't need to know that.]

[He doesn't respond to her immediately. His gaze is knowing, but her non-directness isn't lost on the vampire. He'd follow her discretion.]

If I were looking for a more...rustic run, I would restrict myself to late-night hours and to the northern side of the park, but yes. It should suffice.

[She nods her head and with her question answered switches to a new topic.]

Is what Luther said true?

[She lowers her voice more for his benefit than her own. She doesn't know if it's knowledge freely given and in her home knowing can get you killed.]

Are you really a vampire? [She wants to know what else is here though this doesn't seem to be the place to talk about it.]

[He chuckles. In the grand scheme of things, it's such a simple question.]

I am, as are my wife and nephew.

I'm sorry. [She holds up her hand giving herself a second to process that information.] That question is probably very rude but this is the first time I've met...

[Elena allows her voice to trail off, her fingers resting lightly on her forehead before tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. She wishes she had a hair clip but they'll be time for that sort of thing later.]

You're home is underground, I can only assume you're hiding from something. [She holds up her hand stopping Charles from commenting before she's done.] I won't ask you what, I know the importance of secrets and I know what it can take to keep them but are we really safe here? Are you or the others hiding here safe with us appearing like this? What if someone who isn't nice is brought here by that platform? Do you have a plan?

[She can't help but worry and while she isn't asking any specifics about HQ she knows she's asking questions that he probably doesn't have an answer to yet.]

[He smiles, meeting this woman with a new appreciation. She was not at home, completely out of her depth, and still she was asking very logical, selfless questions.]

Our strategy is mostly reactive, I'll admit, but the truth is, we have no way of predicting the moral cant of anyone who steps onto that platform. [A fond sort of smile touches his lips.]

She may not look it, but Airy is quite capable of defending herself against anything imaginable...with anything imaginable.

[Elena's brows furrow at his phrasing but she doesn't question him. If Charles, the man in charge, believes that the little wisp of a girl she saw in the receiving area can handle it then she'll put her faith in her as well.

She hopes that others from her home don't arrive here. She doesn't know what she'd say to Jeremy and having Clay around would just be annoying.]

I see. Thank you for being honest with me. [She tries to think if she has any other questions but there is too much that she wants to think about first. Before finding answers, she wants to figure out what she wants to know.]

Gus is similar to me but we aren't the same. Do you have information about other species here without me having to ask Gus? I don't want to disrupt his privacy but I also don't want to step on anyone's toes. [She's a guest and as far as she sees it, Gus is the alpha of the wer's here.] I also don't know how much of that information is private.

[She'd been the keeper of their history before going out with Clay to check up on mutts. It's always been a history that they've had to protect and she's still an outsider.]

[He smiles at her questions, impressed by her curiosity, and nods, folding his hands on the tabletop as he settles in.]

I know quite a bit about everyone here. What specifically did you want to know?

Any social implications that I might be unaware of. We have a pack structure where I'm from and while that might not be the case or similar here there is still a structure. [She nods towards him.]

People referring to you as 'fearless leader' proves that. I know that there are restricted areas but I don't know if there is anything else that might be relevant to a visitor; natures, tendencies, instincts or otherwise.

[She doesn't plan to call this place home but then she hasn't felt at home in a very many places.]
