[Hanna is a product of her age which meant that she communicated mostly through text. She is sitting in her new 'room' with her door open and her feet hanging from her bed.]

Okay, so I've had a look around and this place is weird. I want to know what everyone else's thoughts are or to know whose even here. Also why can't we see everything? What are they hiding? It doesn't seem very fair if they brought us here.

Not only that but we're in New York City and we're not allowed to leave? I don't know about anyone else but this is like the shopping capital of the world and I don't think Fedex or UPS deliver to underground bunkers. Also I only arrived with one outfit and that's not okay. What about tooth brushes? Unless there is more hiding in the bathroom that I haven't found yet.

[Honestly, there are a lot of things Joey hates. He hates cats, annoying children, annoying adults...and these new phones.]

It's, uh...I'm a little before it's time, sweetheart.

[Hanna raises an eyebrow at 'sweetheart' but turns her attention towards the phone.]

[If Joey's expression is any indication, he's never going to remember any of that.]

...right. Thanks for clearing that up, kid.

Oh come on it isn't that bad.

[She purses her lips at him before shaking her head.]

Okay, let's do this again. What's the first thing you want to know how to do?

[He heaves a sigh.]

Okay, kid. So, we're all trapped here, right? And nobody knows how, right? It's probably magic or something, right?

[Hanna looks up at him.]

[She points to the power button and waits for him to turn it on himself.]

It looks like everything you said is true. Why? I don't know anything about all that stuff. Let's stick to phones.

...okay, dollface, here's the skinny. [He takes a breath, shoving his hands in the pockets of his coat before he continues.] I died seventy years ago and sort of watched the world go by in a...state of complete lack of physical existence.

[Hanna looks up at him with an annoyed expression.]

I got it, you don't know how to use a phone. Now, tell me how to turn it on.

[She hopes he's been listening.]

[He turns it over, narrowing his eyes at her.]

You push this little thing over here.

[She smiles at him.]

Now what do you press to call someone?

Uh... [That was the hard question.] This one? [Okay, so he picked the red phone picture. Close, right?]

Green is to call...

[She knew he hadn't been listening.]

Think go and stop.

Oh, well, I guess that's practical.

[Hate it for colorblind fellows.]

What's this cone-shaped thing?

Cone-shaped?

[She looks over at what he's pointing too.]

That's a speaker, to put the call on the phones speaker so that everyone can hear it.

Oh. [Because that's necessary.] Why would you even do that?

I don't know. Maybe you're hanging out with a friend and you don't want to have to repeat what the other person is saying on the phone.

[She doesn't understand why he's asking that question. She's used speaker before.]

Anyway let's keep going. So that's calling. Red is hanging up. So texting.

Why would you need to share a conversation?

[That's the part of the speaker option he didn't get.]

...texting, huh? That's when you poke at the screen a lot, right?

Yeah, you know how to spell right? Just spell out what you want and then send it. A lot of people shorten things but I think it's better if you stick with the basics for now.

[She gives him what she hopes is an encouraging smile.]

So, anymore questions?

[Yeah, that didn't make anything make much more sense to Joey, but then again, he hadn't really had any experience with these things...ever.]

Yeah, sure, kid. Thanks.

[Hanna grinned brightly.]

[She looks proud of herself before turning away and heading back towards her room.]
