[An older man with a sever expression appears on the feed after it initializes. He sits at what is most likely a work-table, and behind him, arrayed on shelves that reach beyond the line of sight of the camera are scales, crystals, and jars containing cloudy liquids of various colors.

The man doesn't look pleased as he eyes the feed, and when he speaks, his voice, with a hint of an Irish lilt, sounds carefully controlled.]

Rachel tells me some of you have expressed an interest in the magic of our world. [He takes a heavy breath and laces his fingers together in front of him on the table.] My name is Cairn, and if you want to learn magic, you have to talk to me. Now, I could go into the theories, algorithms, and formulas ad infinatum, but it would probably bore most of you to tears.

[He waves a hand indicating something off-screen.]

If you know where the offices are, mine isn't too hard to find. If you want to talk, knock. Your first challenge is getting the correct door.

[And the feed disconnects.]

[OOC: In order to use magic, a character will need to learn how to wield the magic of the Cycle universe! Cairn is willing to take one students, at Rachel's behest. Stop on by!]

He nodded, not giving anything else away, at least...not yet. "You've been studying magic for a mere 7 years, then."

"Yes sir, that's true. In a lot of ways, I'm just starting." Of course, he had been at war practically the entire time, and pushing his boundaries, learning advanced magic faster and faster the whole time, but he felt saying anything like that would be bragging, in a way.

He did have a lot to learn, and that was the only thing he regretted here. Not being back where he could finish learning his own magics.

Cairn nodded again, this time putting more stock in what Harry was saying. "And how do you focus your magic? Does it come from within or without?"

"From within. Though we can make potions and other spell items that store magic outside of us. As far as how I focus it, when i was young, I used a wand, and still do, sometimes, but I've learned that I only need will power and concentration enough, and to know exactly what i want to do, to make magic happen." Harry nodded, speaking slowly but clearly.
