EVENT 1 - A VERY IMPORTANT MEETING
![]() |
Who; EVERYONE! What; The fearless leader of HQ has some information for a waiting crowd Where; Cafeteria When; August 2nd, 8:30pm - ?? Warnings; None as of yet, can be changed if content changes A text message will be sent to the phones of all new arrivals in HQ at 2am on the 2nd. The text message contains the following: "Greetings new arrivals! I'm certain all of you have dozens of questions and I'd very much like to answer them. If you would humor me, please meet me tomorrow evening at 9pm in the Cafeteria. It isn't the best location for a disclosure meeting, but I believe we all may fit. Until then, have a good evening." When everyone arrives to the cafeteria that night, they will find people who may or may not be familiar seated a table along the far wall near the bar. Luther, Nathan, Gus, and Airy are all present, as well as three faces they have yet to see. At the head of the table, an older man with a noble bearing and friendly smile watches as the new arrivals shuffle in. To his right is a striking woman who seems to be watching people arrive with an air of annoyance, and a younger man to his left who rarely looks up from the sketchbook in front of him. |
BEFORE THE MEETING
Kristen Kringle l OTA
Elena Micheals | OPEN
She steps over towards the left of the room, her heels clicking softly on the ground as she takes a position with her back against the wall. Her gaze remains guarded as she glances at those funneling inside of the small room.]
Let's hope this leads somewhere promising.
[Elena has only recently been acquainted with strange things and she isn't completely sure how to handle this scenario.]
no subject
It'll go somewhere, but if it ends up promising or not is another story entirely.
[ He sounded skeptical. ]

Until the time, Allen found himself wondering around, either stretching or in one case doing a handstand and doing some exercise. He had nothing better to do while waiting after all.]
Hermione Granger | OTA
She hated mysteries, and wanted more than anything to solve it, but didn't know where to turn. This was a tragic turn of events because she always knew everything.

"Excuse me." She smiled up at Hermione.
It looked like something was off but it felt rude to just assume. She gathered her courage and asked. "Are you from here?"

9:00pm - MEETING AND QUESTIONS
"Good evening, everyone. I would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation. We've done our best to be accommodating, but I believe I'm getting ahead of myself." He motions toward the right, where Nathan, Airy, and Gus are seated, in that order. "I believe most of you have met a few of us gathered here this evening: Nathan, Airy, and Fergus, who runs this cafeteria, and," He motions to his right, beyond the woman, to Luther, "my son, Luther, on whose shoulders it has fallen this past week to assure our private quarters remain private. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."
He looks around the room for a moment before continuing, as though judging the reaction of those gathered to listen. After his pause, he brings a hand to his chest. "I am Professor Charles Rieben, known to the residents here as their 'fearless leader'. I'm sure they use it with affection." He smiles as he looks to the woman to his right. "My wife, Natalia, and nephew," he motions to the man to Luther's left, "Antonio, whose architectural talents have saved us from cave-ins, loss of power and air, and allowed us many amenities we would normally forfeit by choosing to live so far underground." At his introduction, Antonio doesn't look up from his sketchbook, to which Charles merely shakes his head.
"As long-winded as this has already been, I'll attempt to make the rest brief." He pauses to take a breath. "The manner in which you arrived on this plane of existence remains a mystery, and is a matter we are currently researching, however, how you came to arrive here from your point of origin...is a rather complicated process. Suffice to say Airy created a funnel that collected your arriving essence and channeled it to coalesce onto the platform on which you 'awoke', so to speak."
"The process was never foolproof, and you are not, in fact, the first anomalies to arrive. You are, however, the first to remain, though your...solidity is directly dependent upon the arrival platform."
He smiles once again. "As such, I strongly suggest not venturing beyond the boundaries of New York City. Go too far and I can't guarantee your continued existence. Once you fall apart, you may simply return to your world of origin, but we really have no idea so I would suggest avoiding finding out."
He clears his throat before continuing. "Speaking of New York, yes. I will allow you to leave our home here on two conditions. One, you have all arrived here from various worlds, and in the spirit of avoiding the potential introduction of a new plague to ours, I would ask you all to pay a visit to the hospital wing for a routine exam before being cleared. Directions will be downloaded to your handsets. Also, our place here is secret, and kept hidden by very powerful magicks that include the inability to find it unless you know where it is. All of you do. Please assure no one you meet outside learns of it, lest you face heavy consequences." And he smiles broadly again. "I will also officially grant you access to our library, our day care center, the garage which is also the most convenient exit of the facility, and our offices should you require anything specific beyond the monthly allowance we have provided."
He leans forward on the table, giving the gathering one more look before adding finally, "I realize this was quite a bit to take in, and I will field whatever questions you may have. I imagine this is all as inconvenient to you as it is to us."
(OOC: Feel free to approach the table and ask Charles whatever questions you would like! After he's finished, the other NPCs will be leaving, but he's available the rest of the night to talk to you!)
9:00pm - MEETING AND QUESTIONS
Grace knew that her age put her in a position where she wasn't always taken seriously. Her father would take care of her or the woman who lived next door but she understood enough to grasp what was going on. She wasn't in the Enchanted forest anymore but that didn't matter. Her father was here and that's what mattered most. She wanted them to stay together.
"What does'coalesce' mean?"
Her dark eyes shined as she looked up curiously at Charles. She was inquisitive by nature and the older man could most likely see the million of questions bubbling beneath her gaze.
9:00pm - MEETING AND QUESTIONS
You are certainly excused. [And his smile broadens some at her question.] It means "coming together". Essentially, whatever brought you here broke you into very small pieces, and the platform puts you back together.

Do you know if anyone else from our homes have shown up here? Also where is home in relation to here- like... another world? [She looks at him in complete disbelief.]
Are we supposed to just believe all this?
And your son is a jerk by the way.
[Which she's only adding because he has already left.]
no subject
The pad stopped responding yesterday, by reports, so no, they have not. [He nods.] Yes, you are from other worlds, it would seem. Whether or not you choose to believe that is up to your own discretion.
[A fond smile teases his lips.] Luther is at that age where everything is an affront, and he takes his responsibilities very seriously.

9:00pm - MEETING AND QUESTIONS
Professor. Fearless leader. Was the man trying to be endearing or show off how impressive he was? Instill some sense of likely false security or assert an underhanded dominance? Jefferson would have thought on the matter further if not for the barrage of information that was being thrown out. He didn't bother holding back a scoff at the usage of the word "mystery." They didn't even know how they'd gotten it to work. Typical. The rest of the man's words didn't settle quite right with him either.
When all was said and done he had plenty of inquiries, but a majority of them centered on the subject of his child's safety. He hoped her attention was elsewhere, because he wasn't exactly planning on being friendly with Professor Rieben. Jefferson didn't take to being trapped very well, even if they were no longer exclusively stuck within the boundaries of the underground. When he approached the table he placed his palms on the surface with a bit more force than was necessary. ]
I have a feeling you already know who all of us are so I'm not going to bother with introductions. What intention do you have with the people your funnel brought now that we're stuck here?

Rogue listened to the explanations of how she'd come to be there, or what was being done for them while they waited to try to go home. Home. Did she even have one anymore? Would she have anywhere to go back to now?
When all was done, she watched most of the people leave, and hung back while some of the others spoke with this new Charles. When she saw an opening, she approached cautiously, tugging at the long sleeves of the grey uniform she still wore, making sure they were covering the ends of her gloves. Safety first.

I'm Elena Micheals, it's nice to meet you. I had the pleasure of meeting your son earlier. I'm afraid it was an accident but he had helped me find my way so please thank him for me when you see him next. I have a few questions though they are particular. [She listens to the conversations around them, confirming that no one is listening to her before returning her focus to Charles.] Is central park a good place to run? I'm used to the beaches near Toronto.

Wow, that was a lot of information he just dumped. Feel free to use this thread to discuss all the implications and have your characters react and interact with all the new info! You have about two hours before Gus shows up to kick you all out so he can get the Cafeteria ready for the breakfast crowd XD)

Grace | Open (It's too late for a kid)
The twelve year old doesn't seem particularly concerned with the fact that she's sleeping on the table. She'd originally lied down to rest her eyes, wanting to wait for the meeting to end to excuse herself but her small body fades quickly leaving the girl curled in a sleepy ball of limbs.
Hopefully no one forgets that she's there...]

Rogue (Animated)
Rogue isn’t displeased with the information provided. She spent more time listening than she had planned. She can’t shake the feeling that this is all very familiar. A leader named Charles who is trying to help in his own grand way. ‘Fearless leader’ seems like an apt title. A smirk tugs at her lips as she imagines the handsome man in front of her with a bald head.
She wishes Beast were here. He’d be able to find out more and maybe even build them a way home. If that platform brought them here then he’d be the one to reverse it. She exhales a slow breath turning to those around her.]
This is just going to lead us into a heap of trouble. [Southern tones touch her voice as she continues.] I nearabout thought we might learn more at this meeting. What do you think Sugar?
